It relates to how we use the email address you submit on the website to receive newsletters and updates about our upcoming software, the Deadmanswitch Mobile Application (the “Deadmanswitch™”). When you submit your email address on the website, you are submitting it to us in Canada, but we will handle it in accordance with the practices described in this privacy policy and any applicable US law.

Do we collect any other Information?

Yes! When you access the website, we will automatically collect the details of your geolocation using your device’s browser IP Address. We collect this information in order to: (i) direct you to the domain applicable to your location, (ii) know the effect of our marketing – to identify where you are using our website from, and (iii) display content that is relevant to you. Who may access your Email Address?

We do not share your email address with third parties for them to directly market their businesses to you. However, certain third parties may be able to access your email address under the below circumstances:

  • When we hire third-party service providers: We may use third-party service providers, such as to store data and display relevant pages to you (for example, we use Amazon Web Service, a cloud storage service provided by Amazon Inc.). And applicable persons under these third parties may have access to your information in order to deliver what they are hired to do. However, they are under obligation to keep proprietary information about our business confidential.
  • When we engage in a business transfer: In the event of a business transfer action (for example, a merger, acquisition, consolidation, or sale of assets, with other companies), we may be obligated to share email addresses (and other proprietary information) with the applicable companies.

Deadmanswitch.com, Inc. cares about your privacy. Furthermore, we employ the service of an industry-leading cloud service provider. All email addresses will be stored securely with Amazon Web Service (AWS).

However, we do not guarantee that your email address will only be accessed by us. Due to the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee 100% protection of your email address and other information we store about you.

Your Rights

  • When you submit your email address to us to receive our newsletters, you are agreeing that we send marketing emails and updates about Deadmanswitch™. However, you have the right to withdraw your agreement at any time. You may unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by following the instructions for unsubscribing attached to any email we send to you.
  • You may also contact us via privacy@deadmanswitch.com if you would like to update and change the email address you have previously submitted to us.

How long we will keep your Email Address

We will only retain your email address on our database for as long as you are subscribed to our newsletters or the purpose for which we collected the email address is achieved. When you exercise your right to unsubscribe from our mailing list, your email address will be removed from our database.

California Do Not Track Disclosure

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a browser feature that allows you to send a signal to website owners from tracking your behavior across their websites. At this moment, Deadmanswitch.com, Inc. does not track your behaviors across websites to target you with adverts. Therefore, we do not respond to DNT signals.

Children policy

We do not solicit email addresses from people under 18 years of age. If you are submitting your email address to us or accessing the website, you must be at least 18 years of age.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may have to update and change certain parts of this privacy policy at any time. We may change this privacy policy when we release Deadmanswitch™ or if there is a major change in applicable US privacy laws or CAN-SPAM.
